The headquarters of MechoSystems, which employs over 500 people worldwide, is located in Long Island City, N.Y., with manufacturing facilities in the U.S. and the U.K. We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Quality Supervisor at our Manufacturing Facility in Edison, NJ


    The Purpose of this job is to manage and direct associates involved in the manufacture of our products so we can satisfy the customer every time.  The Production Supervisor is required to ensure that all Safety, Quality, Associate Development and CI goals are reached.  This is achieved by working cooperatively with the Management Team and by holding themselves and associates in their area accountable for bottom line results.  Each employee is tasked with creating Best Experiences for their coworkers.  This is defined as creating an environment where people are motivated to do their best to help the organization achieve it objectives.



    Primary Purpose: The Quality Supervisor will be responsible for the continuous presence of Quality in the Edison Facility.  The expectation will be to train, develop and support staff specifically to create/maintain documentation and control procedures.  Ensure safety is integrated in the Quality plan.



    Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

    * Evaluate the company's product specifications and compare them with the customer requirements and establish/maintain appropriate quality controls

    * Set quality assurance objectives to achieve basic goals

    * Promote continuous improvement and build quality into process throughout the organization

    * Ensure product compliance with international standards

    * Understand, evaluate, execute and test procedures properly and investigate the product modifications

    * Maintain and set up documentation and control procedures.
    * Monitor performance based on in-process data and customer feedback

    * Incorporate relevant quality associated training requirements and deliver training

    * Collate and analyze performance charts and data against defined parameters

    * Write management and technical systems reports

    * Develop and maintain Quality Management Systems (QMS)

    * Maintain Quality Records

    * Collect and report QMS requirements

    * Supervise  and develop Quality and Inspection Department

    * Oversee initiatives focusing on reducing rework and customer claims

    * Lead On-going quality initiatives

    * Utilizes quality/process tools and methodology in daily individual work

    * Utilizes quality/process tools and methodology on teams

    * Ensures that others are trained as back-ups on (processes) within the area/department

    * Contribute, promote and support a Safe Work Environment at all times.


    Education and Experience

    * Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field from an accredited institution preferred

    * Ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of quality experience and a minimum of 4 years of supervisory experience

    * Good communication skills (written and verbal), able to deal with ambiguity effectively, and do occasional heavy lifting of 50 lbs

    * Experience in technique and tools to improve quality in an assembly manufacturing environment

    * Use of computer systems: Frontier, Outlook, MLS Office, Mini Tab

    * Quality Tools: Seven Basic tools, Quality Planning tools, Green Belt Tools
